The concept of the bench started from the love for the sea and the shades of blue. The soft construction technique was inspired by Japanese fisherman bourgh stitched jackets. The patches of indigo and the bourgh stitching was used on spots that needed to be mended from wear and tear. Made from hand dye indigo strips, I was able to compose the different shades of blue to create different levels of plushness based on function. For ex. The seat is cushioned but the sling is not.
